Palin's teengae daughter pregnant

Palin's teenage daughter pregnant
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, newly picked as Republican John McCain's running mate, has revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.
Mrs Palin, a social conservative who is opposed to abortion, said in a statement her daughter Bristol would keep the child and was to get married.
The Alaska governor, a mother-of-five, was presented three days ago as her party's vice-presidential candidate.
The news comes as the Republicans' national convention gets under way.
The McCain campaign and Palin family asked for respect for the young couple's privacy.
Mrs Palin and her husband Todd said in a statement: "Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realise very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family."

Barack Obama: This story has no relevance
Bristol is reportedly five months pregnant and would be due to give birth in late December.
Advisers to the McCain campaign said they had known about the pregnancy before offering Mrs Palin the vice-presidential nomination.
"Senator McCain's view is this is a private family matter," said McCain spokesman Steve Schmidt.
"As parents, [the Palins] love their daughter unconditionally and are going to support their daughter. Life happens."
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, asked for his response to the news while campaigning in Michigan, said people should "back off" from such stories.
"I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits," he told reporters.
"This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Governor Palin's performance as a governor, or her potential performance as a vice-president."
The announcement of Bristol's pregnancy followed rumours on internet blog sites over the weekend suggesting that Mrs Palin's youngest child, Trig, born in April, had actually been born to Bristol. The boy has Down's Syndrome.
The National Journal reported that a spokesman for Mrs Palin had also confirmed that her husband had been arrested for driving under the influence in 1986.
Talking point
The news of Sarah Palin's daughter's pregnancy is gut-wrenching for Republicans BBC North America editor Justin Webb
The BBC's Justin Webb in St Paul, Minnesota, where the Republicans' national convention is taking place, says the news will certainly be a talking point but may not damage Mrs Palin's standing.
She was brought on board to appeal to social conservatives, our correspondent says, and they may respect the decision by her daughter to keep the baby and to marry the father.
However, some people in the party who already had concerns about the lack of knowledge about Mrs Palin's record may fear what other revelations lie in wait, our correspondent adds.
Janis Thurston, attending the convention, told the BBC News website: "This won't affect my view of Sarah Palin.
"This sort of thing happens all the time these days. As long as [Bristol] goes through with the pregnancy..."
The party's four-day convention opened on Monday but its schedule has been curtailed because of the threat of Hurricane Gustav to states on the southern US coast.
Mrs Palin is due to be formally nominated by delegates as the party's vice-presidential choice later this week.
She was elected governor of Alaska in 2006 and before that was mayor of the small town of Wasilla, Alaska.

Do you believe Palin's teenage pregnant daughter will hurt the Mccain campaign to become President?

I believe that Bristols pregnancy shouldn't affect McCains Campaign. I agree with Obama when he said that Bristols pregnancy should have nothing to do with Governor Palins performance.Things like this happen all the time like one of the reporters said. Gov. Palin shoudlnt be blamed for her daughters action. I'm not with the McCain campaign however, I feel that Bristols pregnancy shouldn't have any thing to do with it.

I certainly believe that Bristol's pregnancy shouldn't affect McCain's Campaign to become president. Although some people already have concerns, it should come to a notice that advisors to the McCain Campaign had already known about the pregnancy before offering Mrs. Palin the vice presidential nomination. I agree with Obama's saying, this is a private family matter and it shouldn't be part of our politics. According to the artical, these sort of things happens all of the time these days. Therefore Bristol's pregnancy shouldn't hurt McCain's campaign.

Well I agree with Clariza and Rony's opinion on Palin's teenage daughter pregnancy because that something thats between the family. It shouldn't concern other people because thats there business. But in a way to other people they might take it as a bad inflence for the teens in the world telling them it's ok to have a baby. I also agree with the article which was told by Palin that her daughter would have the baby and take action of it meaning take her responsibility of being a parent. However it shoulnt affect McCain campaign.

i agree with Rony & Clariza. Bristol's pregnancy shouldnt have any effect on the McCain campaign. If you think about it a lot of teenage girls are getting pregnant and it is not the parents fault that Bristol decided to go out and get pregnant. If Palin was elected i dont think the baby would have an effect on how well or how bad she does. Bristol getting pregnant is a private family matter and they have no business bringing it into the politics.

i believe that Bristols pregnancy will affect the mc cain campaign because teenage pregnancy is one thing the republican party is against. So by that happening it is kind of showin the U.S. a preview on wat it would be like wit them in control. Its kind of making it look like they will go against their principals if they're faced against them. So i think it will affect the campaign but not dramatically.

i think that bristol pregnancy will hurt McCains campaign. it shuldnt have affected it but i feel now a days people would do anything to mess up other people sucess, even though oboma said that his family should be off limit.
to me bristol pregnancy has nothing to do with the campaign and palin should not be held accoutable for her daughters action.

i dont think the pregnancy should afect McCains Campaign because things happen. I also think that her pregnancy is between them and it shouldnt be broadcast to the whole world. I think if her daughter get an abortion then it will affect the Campaign. What does a daughter pregnancy have to do wit politics and their Campaign?.....Anyway all im saying is it should affect them at all, Being pregnant is a part of life and i think everyone should accept it and be happy.

i agree with sharmalee's statement it really doesnt matter about her daughter being pregnant. What has that have to do with running the country? People worry too much about other peoples mistake instead of worryinabout their own.Now a days many teens are gettin pregnant and there business are not getting publicized like that . I dont think that Bristols pregnancy would affet the McCains campaign.

I agree with Barrack Obama 100%. why should someone's family issue be concerned with how they are going to run the country. Somtimes things happen that people can not control and that is what happened here. The family should be more judged with how they handle the situation and it looks to me like they are handling it quite well.Therefor no, Palin does not deserve to be looked down on or judged, lets here about more important things such as how is she going to make this a better country.

i think that it will affect mcCains campaign. i think it will because thats the republican side of the election, theyre not known for being okay with something like that. i also think it will affect mcCains campaign because how is that suppose to set an example for all the girls in america. I think people are going to blow the situation out of porportion and it will hurt mcCains election.

i dont believe that the pregnanvy is going to effect McCain election beacause she has nothing to do with the election. thats her personal life. shes not the one thats going to make the decision for/on America.

I think that Bristol's pregnancy wont hurt McCains compaign. It wasn't Plain's fault that her daughter is pregnant. It's not like her mother told her to do it. That shouldn't hurt McCains run for precidency and just beacuse i think this doesnt mean i go for
McCain. I strongly hope that Obama wins this year.

The pregnancy of Paulins young daughter wont hurt paulins chances at being vice president. Although I do think this will be used against her a lot. When you become a political figure the media always tries to find something bad in your past or tries to create a scandal...for example (Bill Clinton)
I Dont think it will hurt the campaign at all

I believe that Bristols pregnancy shouldn't affect McCains Campaign. Many teenagers are getting pregnant and it shouldnt concern others, its a private family matter. Things happen you just have to deal with it and move on. If it does affect i think they should put themselves in their shoes so they can feel what they feeling. Britols pregnancy and McCains campaign are two different things, therefore they should be handled differently.

I feel the way the others feel that bristol pgregnancy has nothing to do with the campaign what ever they have as a family then it should stay with the family because not only it has nothing to with the public that is there child and they should take care of the situation themself. But like Rony said things like this happen all the time so everyone should be happy and continue on with the campaign.

I think that Palin's tennage daughter being pregnant doesnt have nothing to do with the campain. I also think that no it won't hurt mccain. Big deal shes pregnant whos not pregnant these days . It would have hurt his campain if she would have aborted the child scince Palin goes against abortion, but atleast the guy took the responsability .What's happening to that family is a private matter it's noones buissnes. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR JOB.
